An atmosphere full of emotion and hope enveloped the multipurpose hall of the Carabinieri School of Reggio Calabria, which hosted the long-awaited Christmas concert of the “Gullì” music high school. The event, now a consolidated tradition, featured the students of the orchestra and choir, led by the maestro Cettina Nicolosicapable of giving an unforgettable experience to the entire school and city community.
At the center of the evening, the universal message of peace and brotherhood of John Lennon’s famous song, Imagine. With its evocative power, the song was the leitmotif of a musical program that ranged between Christmas carols and songs with a strong symbolic value. The students, through the universal language of music, were able to convey a message of love capable of breaking down internal and external barriers and boundaries.
“You may say I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one,” Lennon sings in Imagine, words that resonated forcefully last night, inviting everyone to reflect on the possibility of a world without borders, wars or divisions. The Headmaster Francesco Praticòpresent at the event, underlined how the concert represents an important moment of sharing, an opportunity to stop, reflect and enjoy the true meaning of the holidays. The MEP also attended the event Giusi Princiwho praised the talent and commitment of the boys, and the Deputy Mayor Carmelo Versacewho complimented the excellent success of the event and thanked the Colonel Vittorio Carrara for making the suggestive Multifunctional Hall available.
The Gullì High School Christmas Concert was not just a musical performance, but a true hymn to peace. Every note, every melody spoke of love, brotherhood and hope for a better future, making the evening a moment of reflection for the entire community. The students, with their voices and instruments, demonstrated that music can be a powerful tool for unity, capable of overcoming any barrier. As Lennon recalled, “one day the world will be One.” This spirit pervaded the entire evening, leaving a profound mark in the hearts of those present.
Thanks to the Liceo Musicale Gullì it was possible to rediscover the true spirit of Christmas, which should be a moment of pause, sharing and introspection, and which is instead often forgotten in the daily frenzy. May the harmonies of these young talents resonate in everyone’s hearts, so that Lennon’s utopia becomes reality: a world without borders, where humanity can live in peace and share the planet as one big family.
