The investment of the region on the airport system and the arrival of Ryanair have reversed the route. 2024 ended with the bang (Reggio Calabria totaled 622.119 passengers, doubling the number compared to the previous year) and the 2025 has already given in the first month screaming numbers: with 64,951 passengers, it marks a percentage of growth compared to the same month of the previous year of +185%. If the trend of the Calabrian airports is all growing, the city of the Strait is the one that counts the most clear leap. The potential of the Strait airport with the strengthening of the commercial offer emerge clearly. The Messina user who has been “courted” for years has responded to the inputs and there are many passengers of the Messina opposite who prefer to get to the “Tito Minniti” rather than get to the “Bellini” airport in Catania.
