“In the car park in front of the entrance to the Great Metropolitan Hospital “BMM”, car thefts and acts of vandalism against parked cars occur on a daily basis. A very serious situation which causes a continuous state of apprehension on the employees which also reverberates on the carrying out the working day. Stolen, damaged cars and shattered windows: this is the sad toll of car thefts and acts of vandalism that take place in the unguarded car park, i.e. the one intended for all users – workers and visitors – who stay there they stop to reach the hospital departments”. The trade unionists stated this in a note Vincenzo Sera (CISL FP), Roberto Cetina (NURSING UP), Vincenzo Marrari (NURSIND) e Stefano Siclari (Rsu coordinator)

“The facts described – they continued – represent an ancient problem which was exacerbated immediately after the assignment of the aforementioned unattended parking spaces outside the hospital. It is no longer acceptable for an employee to go to the workplace to earn honestly and with sacrifices that we all know, one’s salary and, then, at the end of the day, one finds oneself suffering these damages, from an economic and psychological point of view, given that criminals do not even spare their personal belongings. The organization – according to trade unionists – must act resolutely against a phenomenon that has now become rampant: it is necessary to take every necessary measure to guarantee the safety of employees’ vehicles! We therefore ask that a further service dedicated to this problem be envisaged in the security contract: providing for control shifts by the security staff to monitor the area in order to protect the integrity of the workers’ vehicles and of visitors to the hospital, as well as providing for the installation of a dedicated video surveillance system”.
