The Prevention Measures Section of the Court of Reggio Calabria issued a decree with which he ordered the confiscation of assets for a value of over 50 million euros against two entrepreneurs brothers, Francesco and Demetrio Berncondemned on charges of external competition in mafia association in a trial, held with abbreviated rite, resulting from an investigation by the DDA Reggina, called “Black Book”, on the book gang of the ‘Ndrangheta.
The request for seizure of the assets for which the confiscation has now arrived was made in 2022 by the Anti -Mafia Prosecutor and by the Quaestor of Reggio Calabria of the time. The confiscation, performed by the staff of the anti -crime division of the Police Headquarters, concerns 315 buildings, 21 land, 12 companies, six vehicles and 21 landin addition to a whole series of financial relations attributable to the Bern brothers. The latter, among other things, during the DDA investigation against them, have decided to collaborate with justice and now live under escort.
