“Thank you all. Come on Reggio, long live Reggio”. With these words Francesco Cannizzaro closed his proclamation as mayor of Reggio Calabria, a few seconds ahead of the moment in which he would have worn the tricolor sash for the first time.

The appointment was already scheduled for last week, but the mourning that had hit the city with the death of little Eva had led to the postponement. So it took a few days longer than expected from the elections to the inauguration of the new mayor. An adventure that starts with the great trust that the Reggio voters have given to the Forza Italia exponent, elected by practically two out of three voters among those who went to the polls. A new chapter for a city after more than ten years of centre-left administration. Tomorrow the first official outing on the occasion of the Carabinieri celebration, scheduled on the Falcomatà seafront for the national celebration of the 212th anniversary of the founding of the force. Giorgia Meloni will also be in town.
