Reggio Calabria, the Patron Saint Madonna della Consolazione returns to the Hermitage. Falcomatà: “As always an emotion”

«This year too we approach with devotion and great affection the Madonna della Consolazione who is the mother to whom every person from Reggio turns for comfort and an ideal embrace. And there are many citizens, faithful and pilgrims who have gathered to accompany the Patron Saint back to her Hermitage.” Mayor Giuseppe Falcomatà took part in the traditional November procession which, from the Cathedral, winds up to the Basilica of the Hermitage where the Holy Effigy of Mary will remain in the care of the Capuchin friars. In greeting the metropolitan bishop Fortunato Morrone and all the civil and religious authorities present, the mayor underlined the importance and solemnity of the event: «It is a very important moment in which the community reunites, with love, with its Saint Patroness and it is right, dutiful and heartfelt that the institutions are present here to accompany the Madonna together with all the people of Reggio”. Together with Mayor Falcomatà, many councilors and city councilors participated in the religious procession, as well as numerous councilors from the Metropolitan City.
