If the leaders of the Democratic Party thought that the meeting would prove to be a mere “ratification” of the Roman choices of the secretariat, they instead found themselves treading rough terrain. After having had to swallow the “rejection” of Filippo Bova’s proposal, he considers: «Has the shortlist of names on which the discussion started, that is Nucera, Pazzano, Milana and Versace, disappeared? Were they too, like Dr. Bova, a simple hypothesis?”. Hence the warning: «Unity is created through confrontation, not through unilateral acts».
