Dozens of events are included in the Christmas program of the Metropolitan City until the next Epiphany. Music, theatre, art, culture, dance and shows link tradition and modernity in a program that truly satisfies every taste and passion.
If Antonimina, Roccella Jonica, Montebello Jonico, Cardeto, Motta San Giovanni, Bova and Condofuri have already tasted the beauty of a rich and varied programme, the Christmas journey of the Metropolitan City proceeds today in San Roberto (Sonu anticu), Calanna (Cosimo Papandrea in concert), Bagaladi (The street artists), Sant’Agata del Bianco (Coro Gospel Lirico), Scido (Gennaro Calabrese show), Placanica (Negro Spirituals and Gospel), Martone (Christmas Concert in churches “Natale Insieme 2025) and Campo Calabro (Christmas event).
Three events tomorrow: in Rizziconi (Disco Party 90), Rosarno (Corona gospel), Terranova Sappo Minulio (Jazz Christmas with the RJO Orchestra).
On December 22nd in Oppido Mamertina there will be street artists, while on Tuesday 23rd in Cosoleto Christmas is filled with the voices of the Lirico Gospel Choir, in Platì with the choir of maestro Tirotta, and in Laureana di Borrello with the homage to Ennio Morricone.
We arrive at Boxing Day: Ardore (Tarantella disco party by Calabria sona), Palizzi (Antigua), San Giovanni di Gerace (Duke Fisher heritage singers).
There are many events to circle in red for December 27th: in Palmi you can dance with the Eiffel 65, in Bovalino Davis Muccari arrives, in Staiti you can breathe Roots and Traditions, in Grotteria “Molotov Entertainment – Il Cabaret della Fiamma”, in Melicucco the Liberarte show, in Anoia the Sonu anticu, in Varapodio the Man in the garage entitled “Infinity pop”, in Fiumara the show of Street artists and in Agnana Calabra all the poetry of Christmas in the Cupiello house.
The program on 28 December is also particularly full: in Pazzano (Città di Pazzano wind orchestra, symphonic concert, in Gioia Tauro (Roots and Traditions), in Bagnara Calabra (Nostalgia ’90), in Feroleto della Chiesa (Magical Christmas), in Villa San Giovanni (Vox Libera).
The Guidonia cousins will be in Locri on December 29th, as will the Città di Pazzano wind orchestra symphony concert in Samo and Daniele Silvestri in Cinquefrondi.
The next day not to be missed are the street artists in Serrata, the Mimmo Cavallaro concert in Santo Stefano in Aspromonte, the Magical Christmas in Roccaforte del Greco, the Negro Spirituals and Gospel in San Pietro di Caridà, the Lirico Gospel Choir in Santa Cristina d’Aspromonte, the “Voci di donne” musical show in Molochio.
Rocco Hunt’s concert on December 31st
Ready to greet 2025 with the events of December 31st: in San Ferdinando the Celebrity Stars in concert and in Reggio Calabria, in Piazza Indipendenza, New Year’s Eve to be spent together with Radio 105 and the great Rocco Hunt concert.
The “Francesco Cilea” Theater opens its doors to 2026 with the now usual and traditional New Year’s Grand Concert which, for the occasion, doubles with two performances in a festively decorated theatre. January 1st will also see Clementino on stage in Roccella Jonica, Mimmo Cavallaro in Cittanova, Palo Belli and the Big Band in Melito Porto Salvo and Lorenzo Fragola in Polistena.
Not to be missed on 3 January, in Monasterace, the symphony concert of the Città di Pazzano wind orchestra; in Benestare the Tarantella disco party by Calabria sona and, in Bivongi, the Delianuova Band.
On 4 and 5 January the “RJO Orchestra” with its “Jazz Christmas” will be on stage first in Brancaleone and then in Gerace. On the same Monday the program continues in Africo with Beat 90’s and in Siderno with Magia ’90.
The Billboard of the Metropolitan City ends on the day of the Epiphany with Let’s relive the 90s Show Party in Careri, in Marina di Gioiosa Jonica with The sound of Christmas, in Sant’Alessio in Aspromonte with the Gospel, the maestro Bruno Tirotta in Reggio Calabria, at the National Archaeological Museum and the Metropolitan City Band of Reggio Calabria.
«The program of the Metropolitan City – said the mayor Giuseppe Falcomatà – represents an inclusive and shared project, capable of enhancing the identities of each Municipality and responding to the needs of a heterogeneous public». The metropolitan mayor described a billboard that «combines tradition, culture and innovation, designed to strengthen tourist attractiveness, promote social cohesion and generate positive effects on the economic fabric of the area». «Christmas – concluded Mayor Falcomatà – becomes an opportunity for growth, participation and development for the entire metropolitan community».
