The Risiko investigation, coordinated by the District Anti-Mafia Directorate of Reggio Calabria and culminating in the order of the Reggio Calabrian investigating magistrate, continues to reveal new pieces of a criminal network that from Siderno extends well beyond national borders. Not just Canada, Germany and Australia: for the first time direct connections also emerge with Boston and Providence, capital of the state of Rhode Island, in the United States.
This is confirmed by a new information from the Carabinieri del ROS of Reggio Calabria, filed in recent days, which integrates the investigative framework relating to the position of Frank Albanese, 59 years old, of Calabrian origins but born and resident in Albany, New York State. Albanese is considered one of the main suspects in the Risk operation and a central figure in the associative dynamics reconstructed by the investigators.
The information focuses on the period spent by Albanese in Italy in the summer of 2025, a stay already the subject of investigative attention in 2024 and now enriched by further evidence. The intercepted conversations and monitored meetings, according to the investigators, allow the addition of new elements of a purely associative nature.
