Fratelli d’Italia conquers spaces in the territory of South calls North. This morning four municipal administrators of Roccalumera formalized their membership of Giorgia Meloni’s party, disengaging from the positions of Cateno De Luca’s party which in the Ionian municipality boasts a prominent exponent, the regional deputy Giuseppe Lombardo, who holds the position of mayor. Deputy mayor Antonio Garufi, councilor Natia Basile and majority councilors Antonella Garufi and Claudia Gugliotta make their entry into Fratelli d’Italia, the latter already a historic right-wing exponent who in 2023 embraced Lombardo’s political project for Roccalumera. Present at the formalization of the change of shirt were Senator Ella Bucalo, the regional deputy Pino Galluzzo, the provincial coordinator Giosuè Giardina, the member of the National Assembly Alberto Prestipino, the coordinator of the city club Biagio Gatto and other representatives of the party at local and provincial level. The adhesion of the four administrators to Giorgia Meloni’s party effectively ends the unity of the South calling for the North in the city government of Roccalumera and changes the balance within the municipal administration.
