Roma won a crazy match at the Tardini, beating Parma 3-2 on the 36th matchday of Serie A. Malen’s goal in the first half was responded to by Strefezza and Keita in the second half. In added time Rensch equalised, then Malen scored the overtaking penalty at the last minute. The Champions League dream continues for the Giallorossi. Gasperini sends Dybala onto the pitch from the start, who with Soulé acts behind Malen. Cuesta chooses the Strefezza-Elphege duo in attack with Pellegrino on the bench. The first ring came from the Giallorossi, when in the 9th minute Malen, launched by an excellent Mancini, beat Suzuki with a soft touch, depositing the ball in the net. The Dutchman, however, was in an irregular position: goal disallowed. The visiting center forward redeems himself in the 23rd minute. The ball is recovered by Kone for Dybala, who serves Malen on the edge of the area: a perfect stop to follow and a right-footed shot that chills the opposing goalkeeper to make it 0-1. An improving Roma in the first half also hit the post in the 29th minute with Soulé, who headed into the area following a precise cross from Dybala. We go to half-time with Roma in the lead.
The 1-1 came immediately after returning to the pitch. Nicolussi Caviglia pounces on an imprecise pass from Hermoso and serves Strefezza to the limit, who does well to move to the right and cross to the opposite post with a low shot that mocks Svilar. Parma also savored the overtaking for a few moments with a header from Pellegrino, who came on in the 53rd minute in place of Strefezza. However, the linesman’s flag goes up, signaling that Troilo is offside. The Emilian overtaking came in the 87th minute: Estevez caught Keita, who controlled and beat Svilar in the area. It seems over, but Roma equalizes it in full injury time with Rensch, who collects a ball after a scrum and sends it into the opponent’s goal. At the last minute, the unthinkable happens. Roma retold everything: Rensch ends up on the ground, Chiffi lets it run but is called back to the VAR and after a check changes his decision: penalty for Roma. Malen appears on the spot, beating Suzuki and driving his team crazy. Roma are in the Champions League race.
