In the splendid setting of Villa Fabiano, the Rotary Club of Rende welcomed the Past District Governor (PDG) Piero Niccoli, dean of Rotary, for an evening entirely dedicated to Rotary training.
A meeting full of ideas, aimed at reflecting on being Rotarians in the contemporary world, without losing sight of the founding values of Rotary.
Niccoli was able to involve everyone present with a profound intervention, capable of combining modernity with the legacy left by Paul Harris, who in 1905 in Chicago gave birth to an organization that over the years has become a global symbol of service, solidarity and integrity.
Although times have changed, Niccoli recalled, the cornerstones of Rotary remain unchanged: solidarity, fairness, honesty, transparency and service to others. Values that continue to be current and necessary, and which guide Rotarian action even in the present.
During the evening, the Past District Governor declared:
“The Rotarian man must always be constant over time. We must link the man to Rotary, the man of the territory. We are volunteers to help others. We do it with the desire to be able to create the conditions to transform and help the man of the territory in his own dignity and growth. Making him understand that there are elements such as respect, dignity and freedom which are fundamental elements: this is Rotary.”
The President of the Rotary Club of Rende, Sergio Mazzuca, expressed great satisfaction with the participation and the value of the evening:
“The meeting with PDG Niccoli was a moment of growth and awareness for all of us. His words remind us that Rotary is not just a set of activities, but a lifestyle based on values that stand the test of time. We are grateful for his contribution and ready to continue our service in the area with renewed commitment.”
The evening concluded with a participatory debate and a shared commitment to continue to promote Rotarian principles, keeping alive the mission of Rotary: service above all personal interest.
