Everything had been planned down to the smallest detail, at least in words. At the first rains, however, the smiles of the inauguration, with Mayor Basile in the front row, gave way to harsh reality. Via Don Blasco is a disaster in terms of design. And so at the first real downpour, after the inauguration of the new section with the underpass, even the traffic light system that was supposed to prevent cars from passing did not produce the desired effects.
And even after almost 45 minutes after the rain stopped, the underpass was completely flooded with manholes blown due to the water pressure and a serious risk for cars. One might add: you know what’s new… Not to mention the “traditional” Via Don Blasco always reduced to a swimming pool. It’s really hard to understand how it could have been designed in this way and how after years the problems are still the same.
