New flights, with – and if necessary beyond – Ryanair. Region and Sacal still focus onincrease in supply, especially in Reggio which is already preparing to test the new national (Venice, Bologna, Turin) and international (Manchester, Marseille, Tirana, Berlin and Barcelona) routes of the Irish low cost airline from 25 April. «Ryanair is a strategic partner for the Region», repeated Governor Occhiuto during his recent trip to the Ryanair base, where he also simulated a landing at “Minniti”. And for his part, CEO Wilson reiterated his intention to focus even more on Calabria.
The next few months will be decisive, not only for the feedback on the new Reggio routes for the summer season but also for the planning of the next winter season. And it is also in this context that Sacal is moving on several fronts, with the publication of an update to the aviation commercial policy which provides for the recognition of incentives to airlines for the development of air traffic in Calabria for the period 2024-2027.
