In recent days, the soldiers of the Palmi Company and the Labor Inspectorate Unit of Reggio Calabria conducted a campaign of checks within the construction sites active in some neighboring municipalities, aimed at ensuring compliance with the regulations on safety in the workplace, the prevention of accidents and the fight against illegal work.
During the checks, administrative fines of over 12,000 euros were imposed on a construction company that employed workers who were not regularly hired, without communication of the establishment of the employment relationship. The owner of the same company was also reported to the Judicial Authority for failure to provide personal protective equipment to the workers, lack of training on safety regulations and lack of suitability for employment, as they did not have a medical examination.
5 workers were also reported because, despite having the appropriate protective equipment with them, they were carrying out bricklaying work without using it. Workplaces, especially public and private construction sites, are a sector constantly monitored by the local and specialized branches of the Army, in order to prevent accidents and ensure worker safety and compliance with regulations. It is important to point out that the principle of non-guilty until definitive conviction applies to the persons referred.
