From the lawyer Paolo Caneschi, of the CMOS law firm, based in Rome and Milan, we receive and publish:
«In the name and on behalf of the Magif Servizi Company, the successful tenderer of the votive lighting service in the municipal cemeteries of Santa Teresa di Riva, in reference to the article published on 3 November, page 16, entitled: “Purchase of votive lamps, non-existent receipts and distorted real receipts”, we specify the following: This is a temporary service of sale of light bulbs at one euro each for the Day of the Dead carried out by the successful tenderer in a room inside the cemetery.
At the time of purchase, a dematerialized receipt is simultaneously issued with the application connected to the Revenue Agency. The buyer is then asked if he wants the receipt to be forwarded to him via text message, WhatsApp or via e-mail. This is exactly what also happened to the minority city councilor Nino Bartolotta who was not asked if he wanted the receipt but how to pass it on to him. Faced with this precise and unequivocal request, Bartolotta replied: “No, no, it’s not necessary”. On the date indicated in the article, all the thousands of light bulbs sold were duly invoiced, as transmitted and documented to the Revenue Agency from which the receipts are then downloaded and forwarded to the Municipality of S. Teresa di Riva.
Instead, we read in the body of the article that “tax evasion due to non-payment of VAT” would have occurred. Fact, this is not true.”
