The seven new computerized ecological islands for the separate waste collection, created by the municipal administration led by the mayor Rosaria Succurro, were inaugurated this morning. One of the stations is located in the tourist resort of Lorica, where waste separation was introduced during his mandate. «I am always at the service of my city – declared the mayor herself, fresh from being elected to the Regional Council of Calabria – and today we are taking a further step forward to keep the environment clean and safeguard our public spaces. The new ecological islands will allow us to improve separate waste collection and make our territory more decent and sustainable.”
From next week, citizens will be able to go to the Polyfunctional Puc to collect their personal magnetic card, necessary to correctly dispose of waste in the new electronic containers. The intervention is part of a broader environmental protection and urban regeneration plan which in recent years has seen San Giovanni in Fiore equip itself with modern tools for waste management and the enhancement of urban decor. «We are committed to making San Giovanni in Fiore – added the mayor Succurro – and the entire Sila area cleaner, welcoming and sustainable. Every project of this type improves the quality of life of citizens and the very perception of our territory, which we want to continue to grow while respecting the environment.”
