Sandokan arrives in Calabria with a review dedicated to the TV series “Sandokan”, produced by Lux Vide, a Fremantle Group company, in collaboration with Rai Fiction for Rai1, with the support of the Calabria Film Commission. The program includes an exhibition, some screenings and installations. It will be possible to admire the original clothes and props, within the settings where it was created and the preview screening of the first two episodes within the backlot of the Film Commission Calabria Foundation in Lamezia Terme.
The sets inside the backlot, created thanks to the support of the Calabria Film Commission, are the “Labuan Consulate” and the “Singapore” shelter.
The exhibition was inaugurated today, in preparation for the release of the series on December 1st on Rai1, and will continue until late January. Sandokan is directed by Jan Maria Michelini and Nicola Abbatangelo. Can Yaman plays Sandokan, Alanah Bloor will be Marianna. With them Ed Westwick in the role of the charming antagonist Lord Brooke, while Alessandro Preziosi will play the iconic Yanez de Gomera. The filming of Sandokan took place in Theater 7 of the Lux Vide production center, and between the Island of Reunion, Lazio and Tuscany. In Calabria, in Lamezia Terme, in whose industrial area the English colony of Labuan was rebuilt in a backlot. Then to Le Castella, (Capo Rizzuto Island in the province of Crotone), La Vota Gizzeria Lakes (Catanzaro), Grotticelle (Ricadi) and Tropea (Vibo Valentia).
