Also this year, on the occasion of the World Hanging Day that is celebrated on May 5, the “G. Martino” University Hospital of Messina adheres to the campaign promoted by the World Health Organization to raise public awareness on a gesture as simple as it is essential: wash your hands.
With the slogan “save lives: sanitizes your hands”, The initiative aims to strengthen awareness on the importance of hygiene of hands in the prevention of infectionsnot only in health environments, but also in everyday life. The Messina Hospital, in line with the indications of the Istituto Superiore di Sanità, has prepared information and visual material to involve healthcare professionals and citizens.
The WHO considers the hygiene of the hands a fundamental practice to guarantee safe care and achieve the objective of “universal health coverage”, highlighting the key role of prevention in the quality of health care.
