Hooked through a message sent by a fake Nexi circuit which alerted him to an obviously non-existent attempt to empty his bank account, and then contacted several times by a fake policeman capable of convincing him to make subsequent transfers, a 54-year-old from Cremona, suffering from ALS, was defrauded of almost two hundred thousand euros. The plot followed by the scam specialist has always been the same: convincing, professional, he scared the victim and the ninety-year-old mother who assists him by underlining the urgency of moving the money to secure deposit accounts to avoid imminent cyber attacks. Every day messages and phone calls to gain their trust and in the end it was the elderly mother who transferred 198 thousand euros to a bank account in the name of a real estate company based in Messina. The police are investigating the case.
