Born in 1944 in Minas Gerais, Salgado graduated in Economics and began to photograph as a professional in 1973. In 1994 he founded the ‘Amazonas Images’ agency with his wife Lélia with his wife Léliadedicated exclusively to his work. He has traveled in more than one hundred countries for his photographic projects, which became extraordinary successful exhibitions in museums and galleries from all over the world and books-capolavoro among which Terra (1997) stand out, portraits of children on the way (2000), Africa (2007), Genesis (2013), Dream perfume (2015), Kuwait.
