Second edition of the “Dear school voucher” notice in Calabria, Caracciolo: “We confirm our commitment to the right to education”

With the publication of the Executive Decree of the Education and Equal Opportunities Department of the Calabria Region n. 19124 of 12/23/2024, the second edition of the notice for the assignment of regional scholarships “Voucher dear school” was launched, an initiative intended for secondary school students for the 2023 school year /2024.

Concrete support to guarantee the right to study and combat school dropout.

With this intervention, the Calabria Region intends to achieve important social and educational objectives.

The “Dear school voucher” announcement represents a concrete step towards a more inclusive Calabria and attentive to the needs of families.

“School is the beating heart of our society – remarks the regional education councilor Maria Stefania Caracciolo -. With this initiative, we confirm our commitment to the right to education, because no Calabrian student should be left behind.”

The measure, which is part of the Calabria Regional Program Fesr-Fse+ 2021-2027, aims to promote social inclusion, reducing inequalities and supporting low-income families in meeting the costs relating to school and school goods and services. their impact on family budgets.

The notice aims to reduce school dropout by: supporting students at risk of dropping out of school due to economic difficulties; promote the right to study: providing financial aid for the purchase of essential goods and services for school attendance, such as textbooks, digital media and teaching materials; combat social inequalities: guaranteeing a concrete opportunity for the most disadvantaged families to cover school expenses.

Thanks to a total endowment of 8 million euros, the Calabria Region will provide flat-rate scholarships of 500 euros each.

The sums are intended for students in possession of Italian citizenship or of a member state of the European Union or of a non-EU state provided they are in possession of a regular residence permit and who attended a secondary school in the 2023/2024 school year (high school) of the Calabrian public education system, whose families have an Equivalent Economic Situation Indicator (ISEE) not exceeding 15,748.78 euros.

Applications can be submitted through a computerized procedure accessible from the platform https://editore.regione.calabria.it/bandi starting from 9:00 am on 03 March 2025 and until 11:59 pm on 07 April 2025, by logging in with SPID (Public Digital Identity System). Through the platform it will then be possible to view the status of the application.

In order to submit the application you must: have a SPID digital identity to access the platform; upload the documents required by the notice; indicate a current account in the name or joint name of the applicant or student for the disbursement of the contribution.
