There are “three hypotheses”, “none of which are priority”, regarding the shooting that occurred at a rave party in Switzerland: “the terrorist attack, an act of madness and a simple criminal act”. Commander Leupold of the Aargau police explained this at a press conference. “There is a person who opened fire on the crowd, he shot many people,” added Leupold, “at the moment we don’t know the motive, so we’re looking at all the hypotheses.”

A young 22-year-old Italian woman died and five other people were injured, one seriously, according to the Aargau cantonal police. The victim was called Maria Spinelli and was originally from Atri, in Abruzzo. He worked in Switzerland. Two other Italians are on the list of 5 injured, but slightly injured and have already returned home
An army Super Puma helicopter is involved in the operation. The Farnesina Crisis Unit is following the case with the embassy in Bern and the consulate general in Basel.
German police are also taking part in the search, as reported by the dpa news agency on Sunday. In addition to the officers, numerous rescuers, the cantonal disaster response unit and an army helicopter were deployed.

Aargau cantonal police said they had “opened an investigation” and urged the public to “stay away from the area”, local media reported. The reasons and exact circumstances of the shooting are not yet known and the police have asked anyone with video recordings or photos to send them to the Instagram account of the Aargau cantonal police.
The shooting site, “Aarau Rave VOL. 7,” could seat up to about 3,500 people, according to its website. The number of people present at the time of the shooting is currently unknown. Testimonies from those who were present are multiplying on social media, in particular those of the artists who were performing in Aarau that evening. Many express their shock, writes RTS (Radio Télévision Suisse Romande) on its website. Several speak of the loss of a “friend”, suggesting that the victim could belong to the circle of organizers or artists.
The condolences of Premier Meloni
“I express my deepest condolences for the death of Maria Spinelli, the young Italian victim of the tragic shooting in Aarau, Switzerland”. This was stated by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. “My thoughts – he adds – also go to the other injured people, among whom are two Italian citizens, and to all the people involved in this dramatic affair. We are carefully following the developments through the Farnesina and our diplomatic representations, trusting in the work of the Swiss authorities to shed full light on the incident and identify those responsible”.
