The ball now passes to the Region’s subsidiary, Auxiliary Services Sicily, but after the green light from the regional government, raised yesterday, the signing of the contracts should be a (necessary) formality: green light for the allocation of over 22 million to guarantee the stabilization of the 259 ASU employed in the Cultural Heritage, Technical and Infrastructure departments.
A highly anticipated financial measure, which arrived after the approval of the SAS hiring plan approved by the council last 23 October, with 917 thousand euros expected for next month and over 11 million for subsequent years, from resources obtained through the remodulation of existing budget chapters, without new burdens for the public coffers. The staff will continue to be used at their respective offices, in line with the needs expressed by the regional offices.
For governor Renato Schifani, who holds the role of councilor for family, social policies and work ad interim, “this is an important result for workers who have been providing essential services in the administration for years”, contributing to the functioning of public offices in precarious conditions. The signature on the contracts, explains Mauro Pantò, president of SAS, should arrive within the year, just after the approval of the Stability Law.
