Yesterday, Sunday 30 November, the “Salvatore Giudice” municipal swimming pool in Lamezia Terme hosted a new day dedicated to water polo, organized by Mister Enzo Mirante, technical manager of Kairos Nuoto Lamezia, and dedicated to the Boys category.
Various clubs took part in the event, not only regional ones: the hosts Kairos, AQA Cosenza with the Junior women’s team, CUS Bari, Rende Nuoto and Rari Nantes Crotone. It was a morning dedicated to correct competitive spirit, also useful in view of the upcoming championship commitments. The matches represented an important testing ground for schemes, tactics and to evaluate the preparation of the new athletes recently added to the squad.
The final ranking saw CUS Bari win the tournament, followed by Rari Nantes Crotone, AQA Cosenza, Rende Nuoto and Kairos Nuoto Lamezia.
At the end of the event, Mister Enzo Mirante commented: «I’m trying out the new athletes to better understand what to work on and what roles the kids making their debut can play in the championship».
The day ended with a beautiful match in the Under 11 category, which pitted AQA Cosenza against the young athletes of Kairos, coached by Mister Pierluigi De Fazio, who gave a great show to the public present in the stands.
For the Boys category, Aldo Dara, Claudio Vincenzini, Alfonso Trapuzzano, Nicolò Ceraudo, Pasquale Chirumbolo, Aldo Roselli, Mattia Chirumbolo and Flavio Scerbo made their debuts.
The young athletes followed by Mr. De Fazio who entered the pool were Vito Alemanni, Matteo Mazziotti, Nicolò De Sando, Matteo Barcello, Antonio Buccinnà and Noah De Luca.
