In Italy, the introduction of the duties wanted by the Trump Administration could penalize, in particular, the exports of the South. Unlike the rest of the country, in fact, almost all of the South regions has a low diversification of the products sold in foreign markets. Therefore, if after the steel, the aluminum and their derivatives the US – and, in chain, other countries of the world – decided to raise commercial barriers to other goods, the negative effects for our production system could be folded more in the territories where the economic dimension of exports is strongly conditioned by a few product sectors.
