The escape of the prisoner of Iranian origin who escaped from Locri prison on 18 December last ended yesterday morning, around 11am, near the municipality of Siderno. The man had managed to escape together with another inmate, who was tracked down and arrested in the hours immediately following the escape.
The arrest was carried out by the Penitentiary Police at the end of a series of prolonged searches, which made it possible to identify and block the fugitive, putting an end to his fugitive.
The regional superintendent of the penitentiary administration for Calabria, Lucia Castellano, expressed appreciation for the operation, thanking the staff involved in the research and the police forces who provided support in the area. An intervention defined as the result of coordinated work which made it possible to overcome a critical situation and bring the prisoner back into custody.
