Another million documents potentially linked to Jeffrey Epstein have been turned over to the US Department of Justice. According to what was announced, it will now take “a few weeks” to examine them before making them available to the public. The news has fueled new controversy and anger against Minister Pam Bondi and the administration, accused of wanting to cover up information and violate the law.

Meanwhile, pressure is growing on former Prince Andrew, who many would like to see accountable for his actions in the United States. The last to ask for a hearing before American justice was Maria Lacerda, one of the victims of the former financier who committed suicide in prison. There is a widespread belief among Democrats that the former royal can provide essential elements to reconstruct the system of abuse attributed to Epstein and his accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell.

The accusations of cover-up

So far Andrea has always denied every accusation, including those made by Virginia Giuffré, Epstein’s main accuser, who recently died. In the Democrats’ sights, however, it is not only the former prince: the liberals are calling for an acceleration in the publication of the documents, arguing that the Department of Justice has had months, if not years, to examine the documents.

The deadline set for the complete distribution of the cards, December 19, was not respected. So far only 130,000 pages have been released, with difficulty and repeated removals and republishing. Controversy also aroused the comments and corrections inserted by Minister Bondi’s offices, including a note that spoke of “false and sensationalist statements” against the president.

White House and political controversies

According to rumors, the White House was behind that clarification, which even took control of the Department’s X account to dictate a narrative more favorable to the president, a choice considered harmful to the independence of justice. Further confusion was generated by the publication of an alleged letter from Epstein to Larry Nassar, later declared “false” by the FBI.

Donald Trump’s annoyance with the affair emerged from some posts on Truth. “Merry Christmas to those creeps who loved Jeffrey Epstein,” the president wrote, claiming that he was “the only one to abandon him” and comparing the case to the “Russia hoax” which, he said, would persecute him for years.
