It will be a dream final of Roland Garros 2025, which will see the two best tennis players in the world: Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz. The two, currently at the top of the ATP ranking, have passed respectively Novak Djokovic and Lorenzo Musetti in the semifinals of Paris, earning access to the last act of the tournament.

A highly anticipated revenge

The challenge scheduled for Sunday at 3 pm will also be a revenge of the Rome final, won by Alcaraz. But above all, for Sinner, it represents the concrete opportunity to approach a sensational Grand Slam, having already conquered the Australian Open in January.

The match on live TV in clear? Concrete hypothesis

One of the most recurring questions among the Italian fans concerns the possibility of seeing the match in the clear on TV. And the answer, at the moment, is very encouraging. As already happened for the final of the Australian Open between Sinner and Zverev, Discovery, holder of the exclusive rights of Roland Garros, is seriously evaluating to transmit this final for free and in clear on the digital terrestrial channel nine.

Because the clear transmission is possible

Discovery, in fact, holds the full rights of the tournament and – although not obliged by any legislation – could once again choose to share the event with the general public, outside the only subscribers to paid platforms (Sky, Dazn, Timvision, Amazon Prime Video through Discovery+, Now TV).

However, this transmission requires a green light from the operators involved, but the obtaining of the clearance appears very probable, as already happened for the Melbourne tournament.

On which channel will the final be broadcast?

In the event of an official confirmation, the final between Sinner and Alcaraz will be visible in clear on the Digital Terrestrial channel nine, Sunday 8 June at 3 pm.

No legal obligation, only free initiative

It should be remembered that there is no regulatory obligation that imposes the clear transmission of the finals of the Grand Slam tournaments, not even in the presence of Italian tennis players. The current legislation, in fact, provides for clear coverage only for the semifinals and finals of the Davis Cup and the International of Italy, when Italian athletes participate.

This case, therefore, does not include Roland Garros, making a completely voluntary choice on the part of the Warner Bros/Discovery group.

Waiting for the definitive yes

While the Italian public awaits official confirmations, the wait is growing for a challenge that promises show and great tennis. If the transmission on channel nine will be confirmed, everyone will be able to enjoy a historical event for blue tennis for free.
