Jannik Sinner beat Felix Auger Aliassime in the final of the Paris indoor tournament, won his fifth title of 2025 and returned to the top of the world rankings, overtaking Carlos Alcaraz, who crashed out in his debut match in the French capital. In today’s final act of the «Rolex Paris Masters», the last ATP 1000 of the season, played on the hard courts of «La Defense Arena», the Italian tennis player, number two seeded, defeated the Canadian, number 10 in the international ranking and ninth strength in the draw, with a score of 6-4 7-6 (4). Sinner appeared in great physical condition, dominating Auger Aliassime, who is now fighting with Lorenzo Musetti for the eighth and final place in the ATP Finals in Turin. The Canadian now has a 160 point lead over the Tuscan in the live Race standings. Both will be on the field next week: Auger Aliassime in Metz and Musetti in Athens. Sinner, on the other hand, is “resting” and will enter the Finals as number 1 in the world rankings and in top form.
Today the South Tyrolean won the 23rd title of his career, out of 32 finals played (9 of which in this calendar year). For the Canadian, however, it was the twentieth final on the major circuit (8 titles on the board), the fifth of 2025 (in which he triumphed three times). Auger Aliassime’s dream of buying a ticket to Turin in advance has faded, which would have happened in the event of success against Sinner.
“Winning Paris and becoming ATP number one again? It’s a huge thing. It was an intense final. We both knew what was at stake. I’m extremely happy. The last few months have been wonderful. I tried to change and improve and I did it. I thank my team.” So Jannik Sinner, after the success against Felix Auger Aliassime in the final of the indoor tournament in Paris. A victory thanks to which he returned to the top of the world rankings. “I’m very happy with how this tournament and this week went: now I’m heading to the Finals in Turin”, added Sinner, already looking forward to his next big commitment.
