Face to face with a sacred monster of sport. Today there will be an important refresher course organized by the “Monaco” Industrial Technical Institute and dedicated to teachers of physical education and technicians of the Italian flying rite federation. The meeting, which will take place from 8am to 1pm in its theoretical part, will continue with practical activities that will take place inside the ASD “Valle del Savuto” shooting range in Marzi.
The course will be conducted by Massimo Tafuri, national school manager of Fitav, and will see the participation of the Fiamme Oro champion Maria Lucia Palmitessa. During the meeting, the project “Fitav adopts the school” will also be presented, included by ITI Monaco in the three-year plan of the training offer and aimed at students in the first two years and in third classes.
The project aims to bring young people closer to a discipline often considered niche, such as the Olympic Pit, promoting inclusiveness and knowledge of a sport that has given numerous satisfactions in the Olympic context. To support the initiative, officials from the State Police of the Cosenza Police Headquarters will also intervene, who will illustrate to the students the regulatory aspects and safety rules linked to the practice of this Olympic discipline.
The objective is twofold: on the one hand, to raise awareness among Sports Science teachers of the importance of including lesser-known disciplines in school curricula, on the other, to offer young people new opportunities to approach the world of sport, breaking down cultural and social barriers. An initiative that aims to train not only male and female athletes, but aware people, able to appreciate the educational and inclusive value of sport.
