The new contracts are being signed which will allow the 77 workers from the old LSU-LPU basin, already absorbed into the organic structure of the Municipality of Cassano All’Ionio for some time, to move to full time from next December 1st.
The will of the municipal administration, led by the mayor Giovanni Papassoand the majority had emerged both last July, when the city council had approved, precisely by majority, the changes, adjustments and safeguarding of the budget balance and in recent weeks when the mayor Papasso, the deputy mayor Antonino Mungothe prime minister Lino Notaristefano and the general secretary Angelo De Marcohad met with the aforementioned employees to confirm the decision announced in the summer.
On the sidelines of the signing, Mayor Papasso wanted to reiterate that bringing the 77 workers of the old LSU-LPU basin to 36 hours is a historic union result that makes clear the great consideration that the administration led by him has for the world of work.
“I remember – underlined the mayor – first the stabilization of the former LSU/LPU employees, then the contractual changes up to the one confirmed this morning which brings them to 36 hours while in other municipalities the majority are still stuck at 18 hours or little more . A decision taken by my municipal administration and carried out with the support of all the offices, primarily the Financial area”. The measure, in fact, had been foreseen in the Dup by allocating and historicizing specific sums and also using the employment residues.
The mayor then wanted to underline the decision is part of the broader strengthening of the staffing plan that is being achieved both by resolving the issue of former LSUs and former LPUs, bringing them full time, and by hiring over forty staff units in a few years.
