Dominik Paris scores an exceptional double in Lillehammer. After the success in Saturday’s downhill, the Italian also won the super-G of the World Cup finals, finishing in 1.26.81 on the Olympia slope.
Twenty-sixth career victory
For Paris it is the 26th career victory and the eighth in Lillehammer, less than a month after turning 37. The blue thus replicates the double he had already achieved last year on the same track.
With him on the podium were two Austrians: Vincent Kriechmayr, second in 1.26.88, and Raphael Haaser, third in 1.27.19.
The other blues in the race
Giovanni Franzoni finished behind the first three, fifth in 1.27.67, without managing to climb onto the third step of the final specialty podium. Also in the rankings for Italy are Mattia Casse, ninth in 1.28.23, Guglielmo Bosca, twelfth in 1.28.60, and Christof Innerhofer, eighteenth in 1.28.77.
On Tuesday, at the World Cup finals, it will be the turn of the giant slalom.
