Poetry and music were the underlying theme of the second evening of the Poetry Festival, “South of every elsewhere”, entrusted to the artistic direction of the tireless Cutrese poet Angela Caccia, to spread good poetry, raise awareness of southern talents, promote often hidden talents, highlight the richness of social, cultural and artistic realities. The second day of poetry, held in the usual setting of the castle, enhanced the link between notes and verses, a common thread “set to music” through the texts of the two poets, the Sicilian Lucia Lo Bianco and the Apulian poemusico (as he defines himself). Vincenzo Mastropirro and through the notes of the evening’s musicians, the maestro Francesco Novello and the group of the G.Verdi association of Roccabernarda, led by the maestro Francesco Castagnino. Mastropirro’s verses, his dialect, the language of mothers, the root necessary to transmit the deepest meanings of things. Lo Bianco’s verses are engaging, linked to the sad everyday life that afflicts our society, from immigration to war, to gender violence. Paolo Staglianò, with his surreal vision of reality and his musical use of verses. Carmela Larattawhose poetics instead express the transience of life. Filippo FalboCalabrian poet from Mesoraca and singer of this tradition, present through his verses dedicated to Santa Severina, recited by Carmelo Colosimo. Finally, some companies that operate in our territory received special mentions, from Ornella Pugliese, founder, together with Bruno Corteseof a ceramic workshop and more; to Soroptimist International Club of Crotone, which has been operating in the city of Crotone since 2018, founded in 1921, to protect human rights and the condition of women, to the I Calanchi association, which is dedicated to the knowledge and valorisation of the marble clays of Cutro.
