An eight -hour strike was proclaimed, from 9.00 to 17.00 on Monday 26 May, by the Caronte & Tourist staff “Strait area”. The Protest was the RSU, with the support of the union acronyms Filt Cgil, Fit Cisl, Uiltrasporti, Uslac/Uncdim/Smacd, Federmar Cisal and confined, after the absence of convocations by the company to discuss the requests made in previous conciliation attempts.
At the basis of the mobilization there are several critical issues that remained unresolved: the failure to comply with the agreement of 7 October 2024, the partial remuneration of the disadvantaged works, the failure to transition of maritime staff to contracts for continuity of work (CRL), problems related to the use of holidays for the staff of the General Staff, the failure to definition of the seniority lists and the unilateral remodeling of the organization of the work on the Strait area. Further voltages derive from the failure to comply with the weekly time for the earth staff provided for by the national contract.
The RSU also denounces a worsening of industrial relations, aggravated by the exclusive access of Caronte & Tourist to the Solima Fund for the cover -up of the Tremestieri landing, which led to the reduction of crews, in the face of a commercial traffic that has simply moved to the Rada San Francesco.
Finally, workers’ representatives criticize late communication and the methodology of calculating the 2024 productivity prizes, deemed inadequate and non -transparent.
“The strike – says the RSU – is an act necessary to restore trade union relations based on dialogue and deal with the numerous problems still open with seriousness”.
