Strega Prize, the Messina Nadia Terranova among the twelve finalists

The Management Committee of the Strega Prize, chaired by Melania Mazzucco, chose the 12 books candidates for edition 2025 among the 81 titles proposed by the jury of Sunday friends. Among these is also the Messina Nadia Terranova.

This is the dozen selected, announced today in Rome:

– Valerio Aiolli, Portofino Blues (Voland), proposed by Laura Bosio.

– Saba Anglana, Mrs. wonder (Sellerio publisher), proposed by Igiaba Scego.

– Andrea Bajani, the anniversary (Feltrinelli), proposed by Emanuele Trevi.

– Elvio Carrieri, poor to us (Ventanas), proposed by Valerio Berruti.

– Deborah Gambetta, incompleteness. A story by Kurt Gödel (Ponte alle Grazie), proposed by Claudia Durastanti.

– Wanda Marasco, from behind this world (Neri Pozza), proposed by Giulia Ciarapica.

– Renato Martinoni, memories of sounds and lights. History of a poet and his madness (Manni), proposed by Pietro Gibellini.

– Paolo Nori, I close the door and scream (Mondadori), proposed by Giuseppe Antonelli.

– Elisabetta Rasy, lost this sea (Rizzoli), proposed by Giorgio Ficara.

– Michele Ruol, inventory of what remains after the forest burns (Terrarossa), proposed by Walter Veltroni.

– Nadia Terranova, what I know of you (Guanda), proposed by Salvatore Silvano Nigro.

– Giorgio Van Staten, the rebel. Extraordinary life of Nada Parri (Laterza), proposed by Edoardo Nesi.

The proclamation of the finalist five will be held on Wednesday 4 June at the Roman theater in Benevento. The proclamation of the winning book will be on Thursday 3 July in the garden of the Etruscan National Museum of Villa Giulia and live on television on Rai3. The books in the race will compete in the twelfth edition of the Strega Giovani Prize and will be read and voted by a jury made up of over a thousand students and students from 105 upper secondary schools in Italy and abroad. The proclamation of the rewarded book will be held on June 3 in the Caivano area.
