Tourist flows still growing in the imminent summer season. It emerges from the estimates of the Demoskopika Institute that the ansa publishes in preview.
65.8 million tourists and 267.4 million appearances are expected this summerwith an increase respectively equal to 3.4% and 2.1% compared to the same season of 2024, marked by 63.6 million arrivals and almost 262 million overnight stays. In other words, to opt for a holiday in the localities of the Belpaese, between June and September, there would be about 2.2 million tourists in addition generating an increase of 5.4 million nights in the hotel and extra-hotel sector.
The good news is that the researchers of the Institute include a resumption of the domestic market, which last years traveled a little slowly, with 30.1 million arrivals (+5.5% on 2024) and 129.5 million presences (+4.9%). On the incoming side, which represents a share of 51.6% of the total presence, it would be recorded, a more stable trend than the summer season of the previous year. In particular, 35.7 million foreigners would opt for an Italian destination with an increase of 1.7% of the overall data of the expected arrivals, generating just under 138 million overnight stays (-0.4%). And finally, flows in Italy could generate direct tourist spending equal to 39 billion euros with a growing variation of 0.9% compared to the same period of 2024.
