A victory in the doubles and two third places between Puglia and Sicily for the Calabrian table tennis team. At the Casamassima Open Tournament, played on 31 October and 1 November, Michele D’Amico and Marco Colica, of Casper Reggio Calabria, took first place, while Giuseppe De Gaio, of TT Castrovillari, climbed to the third step of the podium in the singles. Third place also came from Spadafora for Vincenzo Inzillo, of TT Piscopio.
The couple from Reggio won the double M/F Open reserved for the men’s 121-6000 and women’s 9-500 classification bands. De Gaio instead finished third in the M/F Open singles for the men’s 5001 and women’s 351 positions, in a race that saw the participation of 84 athletes.
In the Spadafora tournament in Messina, Inzillo obtained the podium in the Open 7 category, completing the results of the three Calabrian clubs.
The president of the FITeT Calabria Regional Committee, Giuseppe Petralia, congratulated the athletes: «Seeing athletes from different clubs in our region shine and carry the colors of Calabria high in tournaments outside the region is a source of great pride for our entire movement».
