The rocky ridge above via Garipoli, in Taormina, will be shine, for safety. The operation is scheduled for 7 pm on Sunday 18 May. The Advanced Operational Center (CoA) will take off on Saturday at 9.30 on the ground floor of the Taormina Lumbi parking lot. To mitigate the risks and alleviate the inconvenience to the community, a specific civil protection planning was prepared to develop the interventions in view of the detonation and in the most at risk areas they have been buried and the population that resides in the buildings neighboring the explosion area will be evacuated.
The section of the A/18 Messina-Catania motorway will be closed as a precaution in correspondence with the so-called red area, between the toll booths of Taormina and Giardini Naxos, with consequent deviation of traffic on the state road 114 starting from 6.30 on 18 May and until the end of the operations.
