The new measures envisaged by the budget to combat tax evasion promise additional revenues of around 1.2 billion euros between 2025 and 2027. This was revealed by the reports attached to the budget law, according to which the largest contribution, equal to almost 1 billion, will come from initiatives aimed at strengthening the traceability of expenses. Specifically, the maneuver provides for the impossibility of deducting from taxable income the expenses incurred for travel, representation, catering or transport by taxi if not carried out through traceable payment methods such as bank transfers or POS payments. This choice is strengthened by the incentive to favor of electronic payments and the implementation of greater interoperability between databases, measures that aim to reduce the use of cash and improve control over financial flows, thus contributing to the recovery of unpaid taxes.
