First tensions in Paris at the end of a demonstration that took place in calm. Groups of casseurs began throwing rockets of fireworks at the police and damaging shelters and benches. The police charged them with officers and young people dressed in black who faced each other in the Porte de Charenton area.

The 3rd act of social protest in France today brought together 70,000 demonstrators in the capital, according to the prefecture’s calculations. A figure in sharp decline compared to the 110,000 who, according to the same source, marched for a week in Paris. Across France, the Interior Ministry now counts 320,000, compared to 410,000 a week ago and 550,000 on October 17.

Tensions in Toulouse, Marseille and Rennes. Particularly in Marseille, where the demonstration had not been announced and the police are using water cannons and tear gas to disperse the crowd. “Our demands are a right – wrote Jean-Luc Mélenchon, in a march in Paris – including the right to demonstrate in safety. We will win”.
