A young man from Pietrapaola was also injured in the attack in Magdeburg, Germany. Marco Forciniti, originally from Pietrapaola, his life is not in danger. At first his presence had not been detected because, having dual nationality, the police had included him in the list of wounded Germans.

The mayor of Pietrapaola, the lawyer Manuela Labonia, wanted to express on behalf of all citizens a firm condemnation for the attack and a message of solidarity towards all those affected: “The city of Pietrapaola and the whole of Italy firmly condemn the cowardly terrorist attack that shook the city of Magdeburg, Germany, last night, where several people were killed and many others seriously injured. Unfortunately, among the injured who are still fighting for their lives, we have received news that there is a young man, the son of one of our fellow citizens. In these moments of great despair we express great closeness to the family and wish the young man a speedy recovery. Finally, we express solidarity with the families of all the other people affected and best wishes for a speedy recovery to the other injured, reaffirming closeness to the institutions and the German people and reiterating the strong commitment of the Italian State in the fight against terrorism, alongside Germany and in favor of stability and security of the whole of Europe”.
