The “Antonello da Messina” marathon is underway: Lorenzo Lotti is also there

It has reached its 14th edition the Antonello da Messina marathon which today, Sunday 10 March, is the great protagonist on the streets of the city centre. The event, which is part of the international road racing circuit, was presented in recent days at Palazzo Zanca and sees the participation of around 400 athletes for the competitive race but also the Half Marathon, the Shakespear run on a shorter route and Fit walking, a non-competitive walk that takes place at the same time as the race on the same ring to encourage participation not only of competitive athletes but also of those he wants to experience a day of sport in the open air.

The route, closed to car traffic, saw the departure around 8.30 and the arrival on the mountain side lane of via Garibaldi near Piazza Unione Europea and winds between Corso Cavour, Piazza Duomo, via I Settembre, Piazza Cairoli, Viale San Martino up to Viale Europa and the return for a 5 kilometer and two hundred meter tour to be carried out twice for the Shakespear run and Fitwalking, 4 times for the half marathon and 8 times for the marathon with a maximum expected time of five hours. Also in the city is Lorenzo Lotti, the Emilian who won two editions, in 2023 and 2019.
