The ATM of Cohesion Funds. Calabria fears any “withdrawals”

A cohesion policy that risks not aiming again at its original mission, namely that of converging the less developed regions of Europe towards the most advanced. This is what could manifest itself in the coming weeks, at the end of the comparisons between the EU states within the READINESS (“readiness”) 2030 program, aimed at strengthening European defense policies through massive investments in the rearmament. A context in which Calabria would seem to be coccio vase, if the decisions taken by the European leaders were to become extreme and go fishing the necessary resources also in the cohesion basin.

Because these funds (FSC) represent for Calabria a conspicuous financial endowment with which to carry out a wide range of projects and interventions: From the maintenance of water networks to aqueducts, from the works on public buildings to the supports to the competitiveness of companies to the interventions in the health construction, passing through the environment, energy, tourism, culture, waste and transport. In short, a wide range of lines of action which for the period 2021-2027 sees Calabria recipient of a sum of approximately 2.8 billion euros.
