The budgets of the Municipalities and Provinces of Calabria: the government says yes to the extension

The initial proposal from Anci and Upi was to defer the deadline for the approval of the budget estimates from 31 December to 31 March 2024. At the end of the discussions between local authorities and the government, a sort of compromise should pass: everything postponed to 29 February . That will be the time horizon – excluding other extensions, in the wake of what has happened in recent years – within which local authorities will have to launch their financial maneuver. This was assured by Sandra Savino, undersecretary of the Economy: «During the next State-City Conference we will propose to postpone the deadline for the approval of the budget forecast of the Municipalities and Provinces from 31 December 2023 to 29 February 2024».
