The crisis of the city’s Democratic Party is not easingas reported and transmitted to the Cosenza federation by 19 members of the board out of 33indeed it is colored by further critical facts, reported only now by the city secretary, Franco Madeowithout a majority in the board after the resignation of the 19 members, which attributes to the resignations the bad page that the party is going through and which says a lot about how the Democratic Party finds itself in “troubled” waters internally.
Madeo, in fact, in pointing out that he had learned from the press of the resignation “of some members” of the board communicated to the Provincial Federation of Cosenza and to its secretary Vittorio Pecoraro, in no uncertain terms, in the note also signed by the PD councilor Giuseppe Candreva, begins first of all that “to tell the truth, this does not surprise us either in terms of the methods or with respect to the signatories of this choice”.

Then he points the finger at them with the following serious statement: «In fact, some of these have never physically and actively participated in the Board meetings but, more generally, in the political life and action of the Party itself. Indeed – he adds with a passage that is certainly disturbing for a party – the support of some of them for the centre-right coalition in the recent local elections is known”. An accusation that, covertly, some who resigned would have attributed to the same secretary who, even after the party, including the supra-municipal one, had decided in favor of Stasi’s candidacy for mayor some time ago, would have kept in touch with some centre-right aggregations.
The complaint is a serious statement. From which we can deduce the lack of interest towards the party of those presumed and known, according to Madeo, responsible for this type of action, whether part of the 19 or outside of them, who could also have been reported to the party bodies.
