Third day of semi-isolation for the Aeolian Islandswhere strong winds continue to blow from the north-west, with gusts exceeding 40 km/h. The only operational connection is guaranteed by Siremar ship Nereawhich left this morning at 7 from Milazzo and headed to Vulcano, Lipari and Salina, and then continued towards Filicudi and Alicudi. The return to Milazzo is scheduled for 5pm.

Yesterday the Nerea stopped at Vulcano and Lipari, giving up on reaching Panarea, Ginostra and Stromboli due to the force 6 sea. The weather conditions will begin to improve from the early afternoon, allowing the hydrofoils of the company to return to activity Liberty Linesblocked for two days. The only exception was a short trip yesterday afternoon between Lipari and Salina with the hydrofoil Adriana.

Even the Green Fleet waste shipwhich yesterday faced the stormy sea to transport trucks of rubbish to the Catania landfill, will return this morning from Milazzo. A clear improvement in the weather is expected on Sunday, with all maritime connections resuming as usual.

Meanwhile, in the hamlet of Hot waterstorm surges have once again damaged the seafront. Temporary works continue to limit the damage, while the definitive green light is awaited for the area protection projects, requested by the mayor Riccardo Gullo.
