The summer of 2023 will be remembered as that season in which a small village guarded between the Eastern Pollino and the Upper Ionian was discovered (and rediscovered) by those who choose to seek in their wanderings around the world the innate grace in that culture of hospitality capable of warming souls and giving value to time, making it quality.
San Lorenzo Bellizzi, with the project The Via del Pollino Orientale – SLB Borgo Ospitale it has established itself as a small temple, both in the city and in the countryside, of the art of hospitality understood as the driving force of tourism on a human scale where fun, entertainment and culture play in unison a melody capable of exciting each and every one in a unique way it’s different.
A success testified by a constant and numerous participation in all the events scheduled on the bill, which recorded thousands of presences making the hospitable village one of the most interesting and lived-in summer destinations in Calabria.
Via del Pollino – San Lorenzo Borgo Ospitaleproject financed under the Development and Cohesion Fund – FSC, Public Notice “Strategic Project for the Enhancement of the Calabrian Villages and the Enhancement of the Tourist and Cultural Offer”, promoted by the Calabria Region and organized by the Municipality of San Lorenzo Bellizzi in collaboration with Plan B which oversaw the creation of the intangible part, it brought together three heterogeneous festivals (The San Lorenzo Summer 2023with its classic and well-loved consolidated appointments, Think Toursspin-off of Think You, the science festival, Exit – Detours in Art and Musicwho joined the City Trekking of Gaetano Sangineto and Lorenzo GugliottiTheater, Music, Entertainment for children, food and wine and Cinema) designed to offer different stimuli to all age groups.
The squares of the mountain town have hosted artists of the caliber The Kolors, Giobbe Covatta, Uccio De Santis, Eman, Adriano Pappalardo, Fabio Curto, Paolo Presta, Antonio Grosso and Ciccio Nucera, Angelo Gallo and his puppets, Dario De Luca, Sasà Calabrese, Daniele Moraca, Checco Pallone, Massimo Garritano, Santino Cardamone and many others.
Important partnerships have acted as a canvas and frame for the project starting from the one with AIGAE – Italian Association of Environmental Excursion Guides (National trade association that represents those who by profession accompany people in Nature), thanks to which a training course promoted and sponsored as part of the project will start in October, an initiative that outlines an active dimension attentive to the enhancement of the territory through the declination in the workplace of its excellences, also landscape and natural.
Not least the contribution of Rete Cinema Calabria with Out of Field 4 – The Cinema Party, traveling film festival that brought the director Vania Cauzillo to the village with the documentary “The world is too much for me” making the story of the Italian musician Vittorio Camardese known to those present and giving new insights into the marriage between music and cinema
San Lorenzo Bellizzi, its magic, the spell written on the stones of the mountains that surround it and in the clear air that you breathe at the altitude of the Eastern Pollino has conquered the hearts of thousands of visitors with the project La Via del Pollino Orientale, thanks to a project that has been able to combine love for the area and passion for quality tourism, becoming a place of the heart, impossible to forget once discovered!
