Dear-price does not even spare Easter. The increase in cocoa quotations and the butter crisis push up the lists of the typical desserts of the party, from chocolate eggs to traditional doves. The picture emerges from an investigation conducted by Codacons on the most well -known brands sold in the chains of large retailers. This year those who are about to buy eggs and doves will have to take into account a significantly higher expense than that of 2024, explains the association. For the Easter egg, whether it is milk or dark chocolate, price increases for the best known brands, net of supermarket offers or promotions, are at an altitude of +30% compared to last yearbut they can reach over +40% in the case of medium-high range eggs, whose single package can exceed 22 euros (over 70 euros per kg).

The chocolate eggs intended for the little ones are also affected, with increases that start from +8.3% and reach +33% for the brands that are licensed to children linked to children (sports clubs, cartoons, dolls, TV series, etc.). Even the doves, whether they are traditional or stuffed, record significant increases in price: the Codacons investigation reveals that for the most marketed brands in Italy the increases are in the order of 21% compared to last year, but with distinctions. If the price of the classic dove rises, depending on the brand and the store, between 6% and 9% compared to last year, those stuffed with chocolate (with chocolate chips, glazes or cocoa creams, etc.), mark heavier increases, between 18% and 36%.
