They promised him, and they did it: last October would have been a “zero number”, an aperitif, and with the summer, outdoors, the first edition would have arrived. And so here he is, he returns – or begins – The lightest and most unpredictable festival of all: three evenings dedicated to what has been, for all of us, the cross and the delight of the school’s times: the topic to taste. Because in the “Festival of the topic to taste”, directed by the journalist Tommaso LabateCalabrian DOC (of Marina di Gioiosa Ionica) but a very well -known face and voice of Italian journalism – leads every day with Massimo Cervelli on Rairadio2, from 12 to 13.30, the very popular and pop “is not a country for young people” – produced by Elastica and promoted by the Municipality of Roccella Jonicait is precisely the guests (and what a guests) who choose their … topic as desired. Better if far or very far from the things they deal with at the highest levels, and for which they are rightly famous. A way to discover an unpredictable side of characters from the world of entertainment, culture, information.
In a very fascinating place, on the Lungomare di Roccella Jonica – a beauty that is snected into the beautiful manifesto of the festival, signed by one of the protagonists of the “number zero”, the brilliant designer Makkox, who knows how to combine the most ferocious satire in his pencil and the most moving poetry – at the Largo Colonne Rita Levi Montalcini (with free and free admission) from Friday 13th to Sunday. Hobbies, of interests, of passions. All strictly chosen … to taste by the guests, who will dialogue on stage with the artistic director (who last year, telling us about the Festival, had confided to us: “The more time passes, the more I realize that my topic is always Calabria to taste”).
The guests of this first edition will be Marianna Aprile, Teresa Ciabatti, Federico Buffa, Walter Veltroni, Diego Bianchi “Zoro”, Neri Marcorè, all well known to the public and all committed to telling us – to taste – something we do not expect.
There will be two appointments in the evening: at 7pm and 9 pm. On the first day, for the “Books at the Festival” section we will start with the journalist Marianna Aprile and his “Resistant materials” (Piemme), written with his colleague Luca Telese: a collection of stories of “industrious hope” and daily resistance by people, groups, community. But obviously we will go further, to reflect together, beyond the themes of current affairs, on what he tries to resist, and speaks differently of the history and memory of places, experiences, community.
At 9 pm on Friday it will be up to Federico Buffa, well -known commentator and sports narrator, who will talk about a fascinating theme: “Overseas: North South West Est, America”. His topic to taste, indeed in passion, are the Americas, continent that has traveled and told, from the Bronx to the Argentine Futbòl who plays and dance as a milonga …
The writer Teresa Ciabatti will continue on Saturday 14: at 7 pm to go on stage, starting from her latest novel, “Donnaregina” (Mondadori), also this opportunity to speak … on the other hand, according to the very special inclination of the Festival, beyond the autofition and the journalistic investigation, with the history of a superboss and a writer who must interview him and tell him. At 9 pm Walter Veltroni protagonist, in the meeting on the theme: “A world in black and white: the sixties and today”. Just those sixties who changed many things in our country, with television – his black and white that was about to become color: the turning point – which told us what we lived, the greatest hopes and the most extreme, black and white struggles. And who knows that all that magnificent ferment does not help us still today, it cannot tell us something for our future.
Sunday 15 June at 19 it will be up to another much loved face of the “television that resists”, Diego Bianchi “Zoro”, inventor of “Gazebo” and “Live propaganda” (on La7), which are now a community, before television broadcasts. And we who have always followed him well know that among the passions of Zoro there is music (and the shirts, that often of music and his myths speak). In “And people know that you know how to play: close musical encounters” will tell us the best thing that he has always told: his meetings with the most brilliant, bizarre, creative personalities.
Grand finale, on Sunday evening, at 9 pm, still in the sign of music, with the Neri actor Marcorè in “Fifty shades of blacks: put some light music”. Indeed very light. Even if we talk about a very serious and at all light thing, namely the songwriting song. But with his ironic and confidential style. Because being mild is something that requires a heavy commitment. And this festival knows, and does it, very well.
